Every session is individualized, engaging, and grounded in evidence-based practices that help students build confidence alongside skills.
If you are considering literacy tutoring, you might find our Reading Check In a good first step.
A standard Reading Check in takes about an hour with the student, 30 minutes with the parent for debrief, and yields a written "next steps" planning guide.
Although this is priced at $199, for August and September we are applying that payment to your first bundle of tutoring sessions if you choose to enroll in individual tutoring with a Snack and Recess tutor.
From our perspective, the literacy assessment means we're able to match you with the right tutor, plan effective instruction, and accurately track progress because we have clearly determined our starting point.

Review of existing records (neuropsychological evaluations, school-created literacy plans, 504s, or IEPs) to inform a fuller picture
The Comprehensive tier is a great fit if your child already has a diagnosis, plan, or team of support in place — it lets us build on what's already known instead of starting from scratch.
You'll walk away with a clear, written understanding of your child's reading strengths and needs. If it's helpful, we can match you with a tutor suited to those needs — but there's no obligation to purchase tutoring. The assessment stands on its own as a tool for understanding where your child is and what to do next.
